About

Genesis Community Hub

IN AN INNOVATIVE SPACE

THE GENESIS OF OUR COMMUNITY

We have an ambitious and challenging Corporate Plan

to bring to fruition our shared endeavour in and unity of service the restoration of some public infrastructure

PHASE 1: The Genesis where we begun:

The Foundation begun as a ''A Call-To-Action' to local businesses in Lusaka to engage with their CSR budgets and agenda in sustainable community development initiative to inspire a robust reading culture in the community. In 2017 - 2019 we piloted the Genesis Pop-up libraries; our mission was to ensure 'No One is Left Behind' when it comes to accessing Literature, Information and Technology Literally'. This vision resulted in the launch of The Book Club and the National Spelling Bee with many other programs TBA with a view to working with local communities and establishing 20 permanent Genesis Community Hubs by 2030.

PHASE 11: Where we are now:

Before Covid we had a 20/20 vision to launch our own space. On September 8, 2023 (International Literacy Day) that vision came to pass and we launched our fist Hub in Minestone. The Hub stocks over 3,000 books and hosts pop-up libraries for children between 5 - 16. We have had over  over 144 children exploring games, discovering books and learning new life skills while forming lifelong friendships.

By 2024 - 2025, The HML Foundation seeks to establish the KuzyaHub an employability skills hub with a view to initiate and nurture strategic partnerships with like minded individuals and corporate organisation to build capacity in delivering ready-to-work skills through volunteerism, work experiences, internships and apprenticeships for 17 - 25 year olds.

PHASE 111 - The future where we are going.

2026 - 2030 The Big Build Campaign kicks-off. Our ambitious project will involve building a state-of-the art Community Library. Our Vision is to create a central posterity hub where our society will thrive. Subsequent projects to include adoption and or regeneration of public spaces and places e.g. Libraries, Trader Markets, Parks and Recreation and finally spearheading pedestrianized high-streets as well as Cultural and Heritage sites place-making. Finally, we shall go into property development to provide social housing.
